Mazda a cert with what chassis? - Riley/Multimatic's an easy transition from the Lola?
That Alfa: what chassis? ORECA? run by Starworks with a Martini livery would be good or Dallara with Risi & Ferrari blessing/drivers?
Bentley have been talking - Dyson run? with what chassis? Riley/Multimatic again? - both have history
The Cadillac seeems a good fit for Dallara chassis too & Wayne Taylor to run it - perhaps VisitFlorida too?
Other stories have involved AUDI (is that why Filipe Albuquerque is running with AX?), BMW is never far from speculation & not averse to a bit of "badge engineering", OK that's enough from me, any other ideas? Could be interesting though couldn't it?

there is no reference in the document to one supplier being in North America but it is widely understood to be the case
American proposal could be collaborative - story - remember these cars will replace Daytona Prototypes
our thoughts on the applicants
ORECA and Onroak have the infrastructure, existing cars and customer base (but note the Ligier's width below)
Ginetta (GT & LMP3) , Dallara (Indy etc & DP), Riley (DP) have the infrastructure but no existing cars
Gibson may be eyeing the engine supply deal with their multiple series expertise (including current LMP2)
BR has a compliant car but little infrastructure or distribution experience, also Russian ownership could pose a problem
Multimatic have infrastrucure but no new car and are now involved with Ford in new GT programmes (don't forget though that they do have the old Lola coupe moulds, jigs & expertise)
What of the cars?
The new cars will have a width of 1900 mm - note the Ligier is 2000 mm, ORECA 05 is 1900 - website - BR claim their car is a "real" LMP2 as well so presumable 1900 mm...
Rules will differ in IMSA and elsewhere; IMSA cars may have any make of compliant powerplant and may have unregulated bodywork styling, elsewhere the engines will be from a single source and bodywork limited to homolgated shapes (basic & Le Mans) as currently. Tyres will be unrestricted.
As the top class in North America the cars will be free to adopt OEM styling and branding and will be called Prototypes not "P2" or "LMP2"
The situation is far from clear as shown by Bentley's somewhat confused plan and "clarification"
Current LMP2 will be allowed in Asian LMS and ELMS for 2017 & 2018 - story . WEC will allow current cars in 2017 - story . Nothing has been formally said about the future of Daytona Prototypes from 2017...
