The potential for misunderstanding relating to postage are greater than any other area of our business, we therefore seek to make things as transparent as possible.
We are very clear about postage and packing, we do not see it as an area to make money, we charge a fee that covers the actual postage charge.  As postal charges are based on weight, and as we ship across the world we are not able to state the amount to you at the time of your order.  If we were to quote a rate at the time of your order we would have to inflate the charge to ensure that we did not lose money on heavier items, this is what many sites do, but as this means you, the customer lose out on regular sized books we do not feel this is fair.  It is for this reason when you place an order we will email you the postal charges and you can then choose how fast you wish to receive your book.
